All the sales people I speak with are reporting that it is harder to make contact with new prospects by phone… and we notice the same thing. It makes it even more important to use social media to build relationships with your online leads first, so folks know and trust you before you even meet them or call them… assuming you can reach them. It seems all sales folk of the future will be bloggers, social media marketers, and even better face-to-face sales people. It’s fascinating that a skill as old as sales is continuing to evolve rapidly. I saw a tongue in cheek comments that all sales / marketing people in the future will be “s..arketersâ€, because of the blending of online leads, social media marketing and sales skills. There’s even more for top performers to be across. but it also makes the whole process much more interesting… no time for boredom!
